Gatan Microscopy Suite (GMS) is an integrated software platform for acquiring, visualizing, and analyzing data from electron microscopes, particularly when paired with Gatan cameras, imaging filters, and spectrometers. It unifies the full workflow—live imaging, spectroscopy, and quantitative post-processing—within a calibration-aware environment to help microscopists produce high-quality, reproducible results.
Key capabilities include instrument control and synchronized acquisition for TEM/STEM; live imaging tools such as drift correction and dose management; spectrum imaging with background subtraction, deconvolution, mapping, and quantification; and advanced image processing, including FFT-based filtering, lattice/fringe analysis, and particle measurements. GMS uses metadata-rich DM3/DM4 files and supports import/export to common scientific formats. A built-in DigitalMicrograph scripting environment enables automation, custom analyses, and repeatable workflows, while optional modules extend the platform for specialized applications such as in situ experiments.
Widely adopted in materials science and life science laboratories, GMS is designed to integrate with modern electron microscopes and detectors on Windows-based systems and to streamline routine and advanced TEM/STEM and spectroscopy tasks.
